The water treatment plant is located at ul. Benzynowa 4 in the vicinity of Lotos Group refinery. The centre of Gdansk is approximately 30 kilometres away from the treatment plant. The access to the treatment plant is possible on E77 - along ul. Elblaska. To the south the plant borders on landscape and ecological greenery area of the Rozwójka river, to the west it borders on the service and industrial development area and to the east it borders on the area of the refinery waste treatment facility. The area of the treatment plant occupies 73.6 hectares.
For years, the resources of underground waters have been the main source of providing water for the residents of the city of Gdansk. Gdansk water-bearing system comprises water-bearing strata: the quaternary, the tertiary and the cretaceous waters. All water-bearing strata are supplied in postglacial uplands (Kashubian Lake District), and drained in the ice-marginal valley of Reda, in the sea coastal lowlands and in the Gdansk Bay.
The workshops are designed to create murals in the theme of ecology that will decorate the walls of selected communal buildings in Gdansk. The participants of the workshops will be persons connected with the residential estate/district where the communal buildings are located.
